The Ministry of Magic is the governing body of the UK wizarding world

We meet this organization for the first time in Harry Potter and the Magic Stone, but we see the first descriptions of the appearance of this organization in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. During the books of the Harry Potter series, the people of the ministry are depicted as corrupt and indifferent to the serious events of the wizarding world, and the corruption of this series reaches its peak when Lord Voldemort comes back to power.

The term “Ministry of Magic” apparently refers to the Ministry of Witchcraft and Wizardry being a branch of the British government. But even though the real relationship between the Ministry of Magic and the government of the Mages is not clear, it is quite clear that the Ministry is the highest government authority in the wizarding world and does not take orders from anywhere.

The Minister of Magic of each period visits each new Prime Minister of the Meshangs and informs him of the existence of the wizarding world and declares that they will only meet if the events of the wizarding world also affect the Meshangs. In case of importing dangerous objects and animals into England, the Minister of Magic must inform the Prime Minister of the Meshangs about the events.

The Ministry of Magic communicates with the Prime Minister through a painting on the wall of the Prime Minister’s office at 10 Downing Street, and they keep him informed before every meeting of the Minister of Magic.

The Ministry of Magic is actually the modern form of the “Council of Wizards” that originally oversaw the wizarding community.
