Changing the national currency

The secretary of the country’s public culture council announced:

“After holding several meetings and expert work based on numerous arguments, it was decided to change the name of the national currency unit at the same time as removing the zeros.”

According to Mehr News Agency, Mansour Vaezi, in a meeting on Monday, June 9, expressed his opinion on changing the name of the national currency at the same time as removing three or four zeros from the national currency. “The members of the General Culture Council agree on changing the national currency.”

He stated: “After holding several meetings and expert work based on numerous arguments, it was decided to change the name of the national currency at the same time as removing the zeros.”

Vaezi believes that major social developments, including revolutions, etc., have always been accompanied by changes in the national currency throughout history.

The preacher stated: “Since Islamic Iran should be at the peak of economic, cultural, etc., according to the 20-year vision document of the system by 1404, therefore determining the new currency can be considered an important step in this direction.”

He expressed his hope that our money will be equal to one US dollar by removing 4 zeros and added in this regard: “It is important that the value of the national currency of the Islamic Revolution is higher than that of other countries in the region, which we hope will be achieved by removing four zeros from the national currency.”

The secretary of the country’s public culture council continued by stating some points about the history of the national currency: “The current currency of our country has been determined since the time of Reza Khan, while the currency (Rial) has always been the Spanish currency.”
