US Defense Minister Leon Panetta has expressed concern about the inability of US landmines to penetrate into Iran’s underground facilities.

Iranpn -Foreign”: At the same time as the tensions between Iran and the United States increase, American officials are very worried that the use of “smart concrete” in Iran’s nuclear facilities will make the American mines impervious.

According to Press TV, in an article referring to the earthquake-prone nature of Iran due to its geographical conditions, the “strength” industry specialized website “Agroite Research” wrote that Iranian engineers are developing “Ultra High Performance Concrete” (YHPC), which is one of the most powerful materials. It is considered a hard building in the world and they are very successful.

This article adds that the new Iranian concrete, which is made based on a native formula, has now aroused serious concern in Washington, along with Iran’s uranium enrichment, whose technology is also indigenous.

The following is written in this article: “Unlike conventional concrete, Iranian concrete is a combination of quartz powder and special fibers, turning it into a concrete with excellent capabilities, and because of its high hardness, it can withstand extreme pressures.”

The article also adds that Iran’s new concrete is an excellent construction material for peaceful applications such as safer construction of bridges, dams, tunnels, increasing the strength of sewer pipes and even absorbing pollution due to its compounds.

However, the paper says that like any dual-use technology that has both military and civilian applications, Iran’s new concrete could be used to protect underground facilities from bombing, which is a serious concern for military efforts against Iran.

According to this article, the recent expression of concern by Leon Panetta, the US Secretary of Defense, regarding the inability of American minesweeping bombs to penetrate into Iran’s underground facilities can indicate the use of these concretes in these facilities.

Panetta told The Wall Street Journal on January 26 that more work needs to be done, and that he expects the trench bombs will soon be ready to penetrate deeper into the ground.

This newspaper stated that these 30,000-pound trench bombs, known as “massive artillery penetrators,” were designed to penetrate more difficult bunkers, revealing that “initial tests show that this bomb does not have the ability to destroy some Iranian facilities.”

In recent months, America’s warmongering rhetoric has increased.

America, the Israeli regime and some of their allies accuse Tehran of deviating from the peaceful nuclear energy program and trying to obtain nuclear weapons, and use these claims as an excuse to threaten a military attack against Iran.

Rejecting these claims, Iran emphasizes that as one of the signatories of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it has the right to develop and achieve peaceful nuclear technology.
