It has created its own sensitivity and special issues that we see in some social classes.
Most of what I am saying refers to the frameworks of Western analysts themselves regarding esecond life. If we do cultural observation and cultural flow, one of the most important points today is the issue of second life, and so that this issue does not become a serious challenge in our lives in the future, we must think of a solution from today, when we are not too involved with it. Therefore, these meetings in these courses are preliminary meetings and, God willing, it will lead to a deeper and more specialized discussion of this issue in universities.
The question is, what should be done with this phenomenon? In 1979 and 1980, at the same time as the Islamic revolution, the author of the third wave book said that in the future the electronic cottage will be formed, and later he completed this sentence under the title of digital cottage. Today, the digital cottage has been realized and you know that anyone who can use his personal computer can connect to the digital civilized society in the cyber space and that period that was predicted has actually been realized.
But the point that is important for us is that the digital cottage and life in the cyber space has no meaning. The quantity in it is wide, but the meaning is a rare gem. If we take the meaning from life, the same problems that the western man is facing today, and every day instead of raising his problems with a clergyman, they raise them with lubrication clinics and refer to psychologists.
If we add the issues of second life in the cyberspace to these problems, the question is how to face them? And this concern should be raised and a solution should be thought of. Familiarity with the second life, if it is from a philosophical point of view, there is talk of avatar. That is, when you talk about second life, before you go to second life and before you are familiar with its mechanism, you should answer this concept, how much do you know about avatar?
Because people create avatars for themselves in cyber space. What happened that the United States is making an animation called Avatar in 60 episodes. What if you create a myth of yourself in cyber space and live with that myth. So, when the philosophical question about the second life is raised, it is not about life, not about the cyberspace, but about a concept called avatar.
What is this avatar? It is a myth that we carve out of ourselves in that space, and we must examine what happened that made humanity feel the need and make an avatar of itself. The reason this is important is that SECOND LIFE is part of the American lifestyle. Today, the American lifestyle is a religion. If you are a student of the philosophy of religion, if they ask you, what does religion mean? You say the way of life.
The American lifestyle today is an earthly religion. This earthly religion is promoted and expressed in different ways, from the type of relationships between people and the type of food and clothing to political and media relations.
These elements are the emergence of American religion. The difference between the American religion and the divine religion is that in the American religion, the originality belongs to man. When originality became human and humanism was raised, human has rights and it is interpreted as human right.
According to the right that every human has for himself, he designs a special kind of life for himself. Because humans are plural and now 6 billion and 800 million people live on the planet, there are 6 billion and 800 million different lifestyles.
That is, we have so many life models. And this will cause plurality and pluralism in life. This abundance in life is the American way of life. In contrast, the divine religion is right with God. When God had originality, human rights are measured by divine standards. Because God is one, His rights are also the same.
The universal declaration of God’s right is expressed in the form of the Qur’an, which is opposite to the American religion. So you have taken religion from the right of God, which has come to facilitate our lives. Due to the American lifestyle, when you enter the cyberspace, you experience pluralism of personality and you see that different people have created avatars of themselves and live in cyberspace with avatars that have nothing to do with them. For example, a person whose hair has turned white and has reached age creates an avatar of himself that is young. that this young man has no compatibility with the individual in the real world.
So there are two issues: One is that there is no rule for life and life is plural. Now, when we went to the cyberspace, these people who each have a different lifestyle, each of them create a mythical character for themselves in the cyberspace. This myth is a symbol. The late Shariati gave a speech in which he said: “Ali is a truth based on mythology”. A person like Abulqasem Ferdowsi cannot be Rostam, Sohrab, Rudabah and Sudabah at the same time. Therefore, he comes and uses these characters in his myth.
But Ali is a truth according to the myths, that is, Ali as a father, as a wife, Ali as a follower of the Prophet, as someone who is the lion of the day and the ascetic of the night. Today, we are no longer faced with the issue of finding a person like Ferdowsi and writing myths, but everyone sings his own myth. It is an epic in which there is a person’s avatar. Art that pretends to be original is inherently reprehensible. But in the Qur’an imagination is condemned. The Qur’an says that Moses thought that they were shaking. And we call it possible worlds. In the possible worlds, there are other worlds parallel to this world that we are sleeping in this world. And sometimes it is discussed that we wake up when we leave this world. Imam Rahal used to say that it is possible to wake up in this world as well, which is interpreted as Yagzah.
From blindness to sight, the field of vision emerges. From the point of view of Muslim mystics, these are the possible factors.
