Women and freedom

The book “Woman and Freedom” written by Ayatollah Seyedreza Sadr and with the efforts of Seyed Baqer Khosrowshahi was reprinted by Bostan Book Institute.
According to the Iran Book News Agency (Ibna), the present work tries to investigate the Western slogan “women’s freedom and equality between men and women” and clarify whether women’s freedom is good in the western sense, whether it will be beneficial for human society. Or no, and do women themselves benefit from it?

At the beginning of this work, the author has expressed his hope that he will be able to fully observe neutrality in the discussion and argument, and that his opinion will be only logic, and that emotions, prejudice, and circumstances will not interfere in his thinking and in his logic.

Also, he has such an expectation from the reader that he should maintain his impartiality while judging the validity of his content and not interfere with feelings and environmental factors in accepting or rejecting them.

Neutrality in discussion means that a scholar who discusses a topic has no other goal than seeking the truth and discovering the unknown. In the sense that sometimes someone proposes a theory for some reason and then goes after the reason to put the proof according to the adopted opinion. This method is not correct and such people will always remain in ignorance, even though people like themselves consider them wise!

The method of impartiality in the discussion is such that one does not adopt an opinion in any way at the beginning and does not show a heart’s desire to deny or prove. In this case, he should look for the proof, accept whatever the logic said and give his opinion.

According to philosophers, the correct method in discussion is to match the opinion with the argument, not to match the argument with the opinion.

The reader of the book should be careful that the topics of this book are social and the issue of women’s freedom has not been discussed from a religious point of view. Of course, sometimes psychological topics have been added to it.

The foundations of the argument of the present work are based on reason, as it is on talking with the wise and wise; Those whose judgments are governed only by reason, there is no way for emotions and prejudice in them, they are neither westernized nor old-fashioned, they are not captive to sexual desires and their only guide is logic.
