The airstrikes that took place on Saturday evening against the positions under the control of Colonel Gaddafi in Libya, although it has an introduction as the beginning of popular protests in this country against the four-decade dictatorship of the colonel and his children, but it seems that there are other goals behind it. These attacks are latent.

According to the information base of Al-Alam Network, while until last Thursday, there were many ifs and buts about an air attack on Libya or at least the creation of a no-fly zone over this country in order to assert the superiority of the air forces affiliated to the dictator of this country. But suddenly the page turned in the international arena, and after two fruitless meetings, the Security Council approved a resolution in its third meeting, whereby a coalition of different countries could end Colonel Gaddafi’s air attacks on positions and centers under the control of the revolutionaries. This country, take action.
However, why the Security Council suddenly came to this conclusion that it should take such an action, and on the other hand, countries like Russia and China, which have close ties with the colonel and are abstaining from this resolution, should be seen in political games behind the scenes. Few people know about it. But what can be said in general about the reasons for this action are as follows:
۱- Fear of Bosnianization of the war: The West had a bad experience with its actions in the Bosnian war. For several years, the hands of the Serbs were open to incite any crime in this country, and the West also watched the genocide. But when some forces from outside Europe entered the military arena of Bosnia and trained and equipped the Muslim forces, the Western countries decided to intervene militarily in order to control the situation and prevent Bosnia from leaving their jurisdiction. Now the same issue also exists in Libya. It seems that some Islamic countries are trying to help the Libyan revolutionary forces in terms of command and logistics, and this assistance started last week, and the fear of the success of the revolutionaries outside the participation of the West, forced them to quickly intervene in Libya.
۲- The excessive pressure of France: France was the first country to recognize the Libyan Revolutionary Council. This action of the Elysee Palace resulted in a heavy cost for this country. If the revolutionaries did not succeed, the future relations between France and Colonel Gaddafi would be extremely serious under any circumstances, therefore, France held extensive consultations to persuade the members of the Security Council to approve Resolution 1973. Meanwhile, Paris’s pressure on Moscow and Moscow’s mediation between Paris and Beijing are significant.
۳- Fear of rising oil prices: One of the most important reasons in the recent conflict should be evaluated in the competition for black gold. In case of victory, the western countries will show several signs with one arrow. Firstly, they will prevent the rise of oil prices by speeding up the end of the war, and secondly, there will be no place for Chinese companies whose heads have supported Gaddafi in the future government of this country, and therefore there will be no way for Western companies, especially American ones, to be present. Libya’s precious oil will be provided.
۴- Pressure from Arab countries: The Arab countries, especially the three countries of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, had extensive consultations to attack Libya. There are many reasons for these countries, but the two main reasons in this regard are overshadowing the occupation of Bahrain by these countries, as well as the long-standing rivalry and differences between Riyadh and Tripoli.
۵- Fear of escalation of war and migration to Europe: Libya is a vast country that has long beaches with the Mediterranean. This country is not able to control this long border due to a small population on the one hand and consequently a small number of security forces and border guards, and therefore Libya became one of the most important transit centers for African immigrants to Europe, which in the recent relations between Libya and European countries to cover this gap. Europe, which has imposed strict laws on illegal immigration in recent years, is worried about the escalation of the war and the influx of migrants to its maritime borders, an issue that Gaddafi emphasized a lot, and it seems that with the start of airstrikes on the positions of Col. Gaddafi will make this issue stand out more.
۶- Taking revenge on the colonel: Europe and America did not have a good memory of Colonel Gaddafi and they call him a crazy colonel. Every European country has been involved with him in some way during the eighties and nineties of the last century, and the most important of these conflicts can be seen in the three cases of equipping the Northern Ireland Liberation Army in an attack against British interests, the downing of the American Pan American plane over Lockerbie, and finally the attack on Chad as an ally of France in 1982 to seize the uranium mines in the Tibste mountains. These factors are enough for the three countries of France, England and America to easily convince their public opinion to attack Libya.
Of course, in the continuation of this note, other reasons can be mentioned as to why the West attacked Libya, but what is considered the most important of all are the issues listed above.
