The story of a non-believer becoming a Muslim through the name of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in India
Although Qamar Hassan Khan had neither seen Imam Khomeini (RA) nor Iran, he was working day and night in Mumbai between 60 and 67 to thwart the propaganda of the hypocrites in India until he came to Iran and made a strange decision. !
“Safina Al-Zahra” is the name of a lanji who is trying to establish Hosseini’s (pbuh) delegation with ease and regardless of the strictness of the local authorities.
Qamar Hasan Khan, known as a martyr responsible for “Safina al-Zahra”, was born in 1345 in Bombay, India. At the same time as the Islamic Revolution, he started publishing and promoting Islam in his own city. Although he did not meet Imam Khomeini (RA) closely, he loved the news of the front. followed and propagated Islam in Bombay in his own way, until his patience ran out and he left for Iran until he returned to Bombay again in 79 and tried to mourn Imam Hussain (AS) in a new way. He is in love with Hazrat Zahra (Peace be upon him) and always wears the headband “Ya Fatima Al-Zahra” on his forehead. In the following, you will learn more about Qamar Hassan Khan:
Indians who became revolutionaries in Bombay
*When did you get to know Iran and Imam Khomeini’s thoughts?
– It was almost at the beginning of the war that I got to know Iran and the Imam (RA), one day when I went to the Jama Mosque, one of my friends came to me and said: Don’t you want to do something good? I also said: why not! After that, we took Iranian magazines and newspapers in Urdu and English from the House of Culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai and sent them to the whole city of Mumbai and active centers, especially mosques. At that time, I did not know Farsi, when people read these translations They were crying .
Later, I met a person named “Abbas Farahani” – from Air Force Street in Qom – who was in charge of the Iranian Students’ Association, and we helped them to fight the hypocrites. After him, a man named “Iraj Rasouli” – who was from Ahar, Azerbaijan – became the head of the association and we cooperated with him.
When the Iranians entered the Mumbai airport, the hypocrites were distributing leaflets, many of them were very disappointed, they thought that the hypocrites had a lot of influence in India.
* At that time, how was the atmosphere in Bombay compared to Iran?
At that time Tudeh party, hypocrites and Bakhtiar supporters were very active, no one said anything to us, in fact, choosing the right path and method was due to the same pure blood that was shed in Iran and in the holy defense, the hypocrites in Mumbai city had all the facilities From Benz cars, facilities to money, the local officials there cooperated a lot with the hypocrites.
At that time, a plane came from Iran to Mumbai twice a week, when the Iranians arrived at the airport, the hypocrites distributed leaflets, many of them were very disappointed, they thought that the hypocrites had a lot of influence in India, while this was not the case, the hypocrites They were just playing to show people that they have a lot of influence.
At that time, Massoud Rajavi’s party used to write articles against the Imam (RA) on the walls there, like the walls in front of 5-star hotels and sensitive places in Mumbai. At that time, we were hawking during the day and earned money, we bought oil paint, and from night to morning they We used to erase Bakhtiar’s picture, Bakhtiar’s party also operated with Bakhtiar’s photo, we used to black out Bakhtiar’s photo at night, and Tudeh party also painted it.
The hypocrites hired hundreds of poor people to march against Iran and the Imam (RA) and gave each person 50 rupees, which was one thousand tomans in Iranian money at that time. As a reporter, I went to the crowd and asked questions, one of the hypocrites came and asked me which newspaper or news agency you are from?! I said I was from Hindustan Times and they gave me all their information and brochures!
At that time, I had neither seen the Imam (RA) nor had I traveled to Iran. Almost thirty years ago, between the years 60 and 67, we stayed awake day and night and worked. We had made a room that was decorated with photos We had decorated martyrs and people from all over India to whom we sent newspapers and magazines – not only Shias; Rather, Sunni brothers and even non-Muslims – who were interested in the Islamic Republic system – sent us letters. Some thanked, some asked for more newspapers and magazines, we also answered their letters.
The story of spreading the revolutionary announcement in Baitullah al-Haram
*Are you telling us about the distribution of notices in God’s house?
– After the incident of desecration of the two holy shrines by Al-Saud and the martyrdom of the pilgrims of Baitullah Al-Haram on the 6th of Dhul-Hijjah in the year 66 AD, I was very upset when I heard the news, I locked myself in a room and cried day and night. I told Hazrat Zahra (may peace be upon him) that they martyred you yesterday and now your children. During Hajj in 1967, no Iranians were sent to Hajj. It was decided that after Maghrib prayer in Makkah, a notice would be published in English and Arabic on the 6th of Dhul-Hijjah. spread it, it was very dangerous, I agreed, I took a handful of Arabic clothes and tied the leaflets with elastics up to the knee, and after Maghrib prayer, I would untie the elastics one by one and spread the leaflets on the ground and people would pick them up. they had.
When I arrived in India, it was the first Fatimid period, I felt so bad that I went into a coma and the doctors had given up hope on me, but thanks to the grace of Hazrat Zahra (peace be upon him), I found a new life again.
* Were you arrested while preaching for Islam?
– The first time I was arrested was on the eve of Hazrat Zahra’s (peace be upon him) birthday, I was very happy there in the detention center and I was whispering to Imam Sajjad (a.s.) that we had heard about the sufferings of your captivity, but we had not tasted them, they could not talk about me there. Who will support us? I, who had never seen Iran at all, while one handcuff was tied to my hand and the other handcuffed to a wooden box, they sent a make-up prostitute to the detention center in the middle of the night. I fell asleep, I saw that he didn’t stop at all, I shouted at him and said: Let me sleep and he left us.
I mean, at that time they said that the revolution won with empty hands, I really understood this issue and I had reached him.
I could not bear to stay away from Iran
*When did you come to Iran?
– I came to Iran in 1967, a few months later the Imam (RA) passed away, after him we are the followers of Hazrat Agha. When I wanted to leave Iran in 1979, it was very difficult for me, the plane was about to take off, I was dying, when I arrived in India, it was the days of Fatemieh I, I felt so bad that I went into a coma and the doctors gave up hope on me. but with the grace and care of Hazrat Zahra (peace be upon him), I found a new life again.
A different boat in the Indian Ocean/ “Labik Ya Hossein” sound in the heart of the ocean
*How did the idea of “Safina al-Zahra” form in your mind?
– Look around the world, people who go to the sea and get on a ship or barge are going to sin. I was in Iran, I had the success of serving in the “Department of Lovers of Ahl al-Bayt” in Qom and I owe a lot to this board. For several years, we used to hold meetings by the sea. Until one of the children said, in order to avoid any problems, we should get permission from the local authorities to hold the ceremony. I told you not to pursue this work, the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) will help. One of them who had gone, came back and said: They don’t allow me, I was very sad after hearing this news.
It was the night of martyrdom of Imam Javad (a.s.) and we were raising our concerns. In the meantime, I was inspired that people rent barges for dancing, singing and drinking wine, why don’t we rent a ship for the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon him) ceremony and get a delegation? On the same night, we decided and started this work, and because the delegation of the supporters of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) was held on the ship, we named it “Safina Al-Zahra”. With the grace of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon him), the Muslim people of Mumbai and even people from different parts of India and abroad gave a strange welcome to this delegation, in such a way that sometimes – because the capacity of the ship was limited – people stayed on the waiting list for two months. Each barge has room for 200 people, so sometimes we connect up to three barges so that more people can come, then we go to the heart of the Indian Ocean and organize the delegation.
We are the first delegation to hold the style of Iranian delegations, i.e. reciting the Ashura pilgrimage, reciting the prayer and praying, I myself was interested in the fact that in Iran usually no prayer is recited without the name of Hazrat Zahra (peace be upon them), as well as the people of Iran. They have special respect for “Sadat” in the name of the children of Hazrat Zahra (peace be upon them). Greetings to the pure and noble people of Islamic Iran.
Were you a Muslim from the beginning?
– Yes! I was born in a Shiite family.
*how many brothers and sisters are you?
– I have only 2 brothers.
*Your education?
– I got a diploma in India and took courses in Iran.
The name “Hussein” converted an unbeliever to Islam
Did you manage to invite someone to Islam with these words?
-Yes! I converted a person to Islam, he was previously a non-believer named “Shubhash”, I named him Mohammad Mahdi, and then he came to Iran, studied the courses of the Hozah, and is currently working in radio and television.
The story of his conversion to Islam is that Muhammad Mahdi’s village was 30 hours away from Bombay by train, sometimes he liked where the shrine was built, and he secretly sat and listened until one day one of our relatives who was in that village They called me and said, Muhammad Mahdi is interested in Imam Hussain (AS) and wants to become a Shia, I said: Send him to me so that I can register him in the field, he read Shahadatin in Bombay.
*how many children do you have?
– ۲ girls and 3 boys, all of whom, Alhamdulillah, are on the path of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). I came to Iran this time to follow up on my eldest son’s graduation, which, of course, has its own story. During the month of Ramadan last year, when we came to Iran, my wife insisted that I talk to the authorities and ask them to become my Hossein’s student, I said that I will take you to the shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (peace be upon him) and ask them, they stayed in the shrine and I I was invited somewhere for iftar, an acquaintance who I had not seen for 16 years, came to me and said: Don’t you want to stay in Iran again? I said no; Of course, I have a son who I would like to study in Iran. Through him, things progressed and it was decided that next time we will come to Iran with my son to register in the seminary, this year we entered Iran on the birthday of Hazrat Zahra (pbuh), and Hossein completed the registration process and, God willing, he will soon become a student.
*Final speech…
–How do you greet a stranger when he greets you? Is it possible to talk to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and they do not answer us?! The Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) watch over us every moment and we live under the supervision of these dignitaries, in fact, any progress we have is due to the blessings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), that is why the Islamic Republic in these 36 years with the leadership of the Imam (RA) ) and the supreme leader of the revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei has become strong and powerful, so as long as we trust in God and appeal to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), we will not fail and we will not suffer.
And we are successful except by Allah, against your trust and aliya anib.
