A memory of a new Namibian Muslim:
My classmate ‘s sobriety, discipline, piety and strictness made me a Muslim
The head of the English Department of Public Relations and International Affairs of the Holy Astana of Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH) quoted a new Namibian Muslim as saying: My classmate’s sobriety, order, piety and strictness caused me to become a Muslim.
Hojjat al-Islam Wali Ghaibi, the head of the English Department of Public Relations and International Affairs of the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH), said in a conversation with a Rasa reporter: During my five years of working in the English department, I have witnessed many memories, people becoming Muslim and Shiite has been my best memory during these years.
This university professor went on to express one of his memories and added: Last year, a black African from Namibia attended this section and said, “I was a Christian, but I accepted Islam and became a Shiite.”
I asked the reason for his conversion to Islam, he said: “I had a Muslim classmate, he was polite, well-read and disciplined, and he went to a mosque near our place of residence every day to pray.
I asked him about Islam, he said that he has a book about Islam, he gave it to me, after reading that book, I realized that the principles, branches and rituals of Islam are not against the mind and are in the heart, I accepted Islam.
I discussed the issue of “becoming a Muslim” with my relatives. My father, mother and relatives rejected me and said that you have left our religion and kicked me out of the house.
My family’s treatment was very difficult and heavy for me, I discussed the issue with my friend, he introduced me to an Islamic center that did cultural work, they accepted me and promised to provide me facilities.
There were many books about Islam in that center, I studied those books deeply and became more firm in my Islam, the interaction of those friends and further study encouraged me to Shiism.
I have come on this trip to visit Hazrat Imam Reza (a.s.), my classmate’s sobriety, discipline, piety and piety caused me to become a Muslim.
