Simin Daneshvar, the wife of Jalal Al Ahmad, who passed away at the age of ninety-one on March 18, 2010

Samavat Alley Dead end land. The house of Daneshvar and Al Ahmad is like theirs. Heavenly and on earth. brick by brick, brick by brick; It is as it should be. Maybe the owner of the house in these years has intended to make the inside of his house smell old, so that if Jalal builds the house brick by brick with his own hands, the house after him will be the same house as it should be. The house of Simin and Jalal

They said that the brown door of the house has not been touched since the day it was built. A wooden door with two glass frames above it. When you enter, when you take off your shoes, there is a small wooden frame on the door of the house; Dirt and old. Written in bold: “In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Merciful

This is Jalal and Simin’s house; Just as someone said that Seyyed Ahmad Khomeini knocks on it night after night and says to its owner : “ Sir”, they greeted and said, give me a copy of your “Westernization” so that we can publish it in Qom .

It is not crowded. A few relatives and a government official and me as a reporter. And I don’t know how to step into the solitude of the house. The house of Jalal and Simin is older than you can imagine. Relatives say that it was Simin’s insistence that the house be the same that Jalal chose. Only recently, when he could no longer walk, his resting bed was brought down from the upper house .

The upstairs, which I am talking about, is an old room with a bed and Jalal and Simin’s music player; The same old gram players .

The loft that I say is the window from which Jalal used to see the yard and write. Above is the same room where Simin’s writing desk is in the three corners of the entrance with an old briefcase and his father’s photo on it .

A voice comes from below, I listen. The speaker says: Simin wrote “Ghorob Jalal”, but it is not known who wrote Simin’s Ghorob !

empty chair

Ali Khareavi introduces himself as Daneshwar’s niece’s wife. When I ask him about the last days of Daneshvar, he says: Simin is a cultural figure. First of all I have to say this. It means that he should not be pinned on anyone. He was far from politics, but he had politics .

He points to Simin’s empty seat and says: This chair is the last place Simin sat on. I remember Dr. Masoud Jafari came to see him. He used to talk to them with the same poise and smile as always .

I ask him what kind of poetry is he reading? says: He especially loved Hafez, but the poetry of Sapid and Nimai also had its own place for him .

From the eyes of the sister

Smoked glasses are on his eyes. He also has a simple wooden cane in his hand. Sometimes he receives guests. Sometimes he puts his head on his hand and cries .

Victoria Daneshvar says: Until a few days ago, the employee was telling me: As they were knocking on the door, Simin would say to me: Vicki has come, but now that I am, she is no longer .

says: Since we brought him home from the hospital five years ago, he was no longer able to write. The ability to hold a book. But he wanted us to read books for him. Some of them were books sent to him by his friends and students, and another part was Jalal’s books .

From Jalal, whom I know, he says that Simin’s love for Jalal was so great that he did not remove his wedding ring and Jalal’s wedding ring from his fingers until the moment of his death. It is in his hands right now .

He continues: He mentioned Jalal a lot; From Jalal’s struggles with the government of his time. He read a lot from him and liked his writings very much and often asked us to read for him .

I am asking: Which ones?

says: School principal, Noon Wal Qalam and Khasi Dar Miqat; He especially remembered this last one a lot. Even recently, when the controversy of the book “Sangi Ber Gori” was created, he said that I think this is one of Jalal’s best books .

was saying: I consider my masterpiece “sunset of glory” and nothing else .

room

Ten or eleven stairs are winding from the side of the kitchen to reach Jalal and Simin’s common room. Two rugs and an old carpet. A library full of books and a desk and two beds will attract your attention the most. I go to the library. everyone is A voice wakes me up . His name is Parviz Farjam and he is Simin’s sister’s husband .

says: This was the study room of Simin and Jalal, but Simin was sitting on the same table next to the door and writing and pointing to the table that stood in the three corners of the room. white and silent

Simin’s bag is next to his father’s photo and a small library above it .

was saying: Since Simin stopped writing, he didn’t come to this room either… and you think that someone who doesn’t write doesn’t allow himself to step into the privacy of this room .

With Farjam’s guidance, I go to Al-Ahmed’s room; to his library. To the many works read by the hands of Simin and Jalal and the many works chosen for translation by their hands and the photo of Simin smiling at you in the solitude of Jalal at the highest point of the room next to the window .

The room is not empty. has a guest An old heater and a few blankets and a thousand other pigs and panzers, and you think that there has been no one in these years who, instead of talking about such and such a novel and such a book, touches these books…. I look at them… The regret of many of them is on my heart …. a hand touches my shoulder; we have to go

Music

The only housekeeper still doesn’t believe anything. He cooks his food in the corner of the kitchen; Like everyday. on schedule. I ask Simin. says: I do not know what to say. I seem to have forgotten since yesterday . His wife comes to his aid and says: One of her interests was music. Especially the traditional music of Iran .

I ask whose voice? Must be Shajarian .

says: At first, yes, but it seems that after the story of Shajarian’s second marriage, he lost contact with her. Recently, he only listened to Iraj Bastami’s voice and he liked it very much, and apart from that, Banan’s voice; Of course, old Shirazi songs also had their place .

Home

The land of the house is donated by a person named Haj Qurban Ali Shafi’i. Apparently, according to the laws of those years, the Ministry of Culture gave a piece of land to Jalal for a long time, and this house became the result .

In 1983, Simin wrote a letter to the cultural heritage and donated the house to them so that it could be registered and remain as it was in these years .

I ask the heirs. Someone says: We do not know whether it will reach the heirs or not. It seems to be something like this and another voice says from the other side: No !

Samavat Alley

The house is quiet. no one is Simin’s bed is next to the room. Her photo is smiling on the bed. Next to it is a photo of Jalal; quiet and calm His head is bent to the left side of his shoulder. With white hair and a thick beard. It is as if he looks at Simin and laughs at him .

Samavat alley no longer ends at the dead end of the land. Here is the only alley of Samavat .
