According to the report, even now, it is difficult to find an angle in the main courtyard of the mosque and around the Kaaba, when a pilgrim wants to face the house of God and be busy with secrets and needs, or raise his hand to pray towards the special sky above the Grand Mosque, with He has not encountered a tower or high-rise building and he can pray to his god with complete concentration.
The remarkable point about these buildings is that most of them, having western-style architecture, while not having any fit with the spiritual space of the safe shrine of God and its Islamic architecture and the simple building of the Kaaba, by creating a severe disproportion and creating an unbalanced visual effect, the concentration of visitors and in fact it is an obstacle to the secret, need and worship.
Among all the buildings overlooking the Grand Mosque, what attracts the most attention is the tower, which is one of the tallest buildings in the world with a height of 400 meters and has a clock at its highest point, which is known as the Umm Al-Qari clock. It diverts a considerable amount of attention from pilgrims and circumambulators around the Holy Kaaba.
According to some experts, this tower, which is considered to be a favorite symbol of Freemasons, while having a remarkable resemblance to London’s Big Ben, overlooks Baitullah Al-Haram from the angle of the Yemeni corner, and the pilgrims while circumambulating the Kaaba. Passing Hajar Ismail and the western corner and moving towards the Yemeni corner, they encounter it and unconsciously their gaze is diverted from the Kaaba and drawn towards it.
This huge building with its high height is built in such a way that it can be seen from all parts of the city of Makkah and several kilometers before the entrances of the city. Willingly or not, it is the first image of Makkah in the mind of a pilgrim who after years of eagerly waiting for it. The direction of this holy city is marked by movement, the mentioned tower and also when leaving the city, this tower is visible to the visitors for kilometers, and in fact, this huge building regardless of the purpose of its construction and without any judgment, in In the long run, it can lead to the creation of another symbol next to the Kaaba for the city of revelation, and it will be equal to the unique symbol of this holy city.
A noteworthy point is the dissatisfaction of some Saudi citizens and visitors from other Islamic countries who, in a conversation with the Sarat News reporter, expressed their dissatisfaction with the construction of this tower over the Grand Mosque and considered it an insult to the sanctity of the safe sanctuary of God and hindered the visitors from fully paying attention to the secret. And they evaluated the need and worship.
On the other hand, one of the interesting points about the continuous constructions around the Haram Mosque, which may express the inner wishes and aspirations of its designers, are the billboards that show the future of these projects and the space of the Haram Mosque after the construction is completed. However, the question that comes to the mind of the Iranian pilgrim after seeing the towers overlooking the Grand Mosque is whether we Iranians are excessive in preserving our historical monuments, which are in no way comparable to the Grand Mosque and the Holy Kaaba, in such a way that the issue of nobility Jahan Tower facing a corner of Isfahan’s Imam Square has become one of the topics of the day in the country for several years, or Al Saud about the Haram Mosque and Qiblah, one and a half billion Muslims in the world are suffering from shortness and negligence.
