The stories of the indifference of the secular government of the Republic of Azerbaijan to its internal opponents and neighbors would go on for a long time, but it is useful to mention some of these stories. Apparently, irregular behavior is considered a fundamental principle in this country, and it is no surprise to anyone that supporters of the right words are put behind bars. In this atmosphere that does not require imaging, the most famous defender of human rights has recently been sentenced to eight years in prison.

Leila Younes, head of the Peace and Democracy Institute of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who is considered the most famous defender of human rights in this country, has been accused of financial corruption; A controversial verdict that expresses controversial facts in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Leila Younes is not the first example who is sentenced to punishment because of a fake verdict, usually all the opponents of this country have such a fate.

Eight years in prison for Leila Younes and her husband Aref Younes
Since 2010, following the prohibition of the hijab, a new period of repression against protesters has begun, and Leila Younes has also been a serious protester of this incident, and for this reason, she and her husband Aref Younes, another human rights defender and their organization, have been Many times they have been under the pressure of the government institutions of this country.

Suppression!!

Leila Younes has been convicted of corruption while she has repeatedly criticized government officials, especially Elham Aliyev, for corruption. In the meantime, the defense of the Islamic Republic of Azerbaijan against Mrs. Leila Younes is interesting; Because, firstly, it shows that the Islamic trend of this country supports freedom movements, and secondly, the true movement of Mrs. Leila Younes and the condemnation of government institutions are well inferred. It has condemned itself for persecuting journalists, human rights defenders and political opponents, but the energy reserves of this country and the profits of Western countries from these reserves are a cover for these actions.

Repressions in Azerbaijan

Mrs. “Ann Castenos-Sen” from Amnesty International has emphasized: “Since last summer, we have witnessed the intensification of repressions in Azerbaijan. A number of human rights defenders and social activists of Azerbaijan have been arrested without any charges and after several months no court has been held for them. For some of these arrested people, prison terms of seven to eight years have been set.” The German parliament also passed a resolution calling for the release of political activists imprisoned in the Republic of Azerbaijan. But the government of this country emphasized that the people imprisoned are not political prisoners, and said that this action of the German parliament was done to defame the Republic of Azerbaijan. (1) Therefore, the repressions of the Azerbaijani government are not hidden from anyoneIn our country, oil has won over democracy. The oil tap that is opened to the West washes away the repressions of this corrupt country. Azerbaijan’s oil has a special dual function; Profit for the West, laundry for Azerbaijan.

The travel expenses of a number of congress representatives are provided by Azerbaijan Oil Company

The oil of this country is one of the most important reasons for the presence of the West in this country, which is now at the service of the Westerners. A few months ago, the Washington Post revealed in a report that Azerbaijan’s oil company paid for the travel expenses of a number of congressmen to participate in a conference in Baku in 2013. This confidential report reveals a fact that is a clue to the illegal actions of this country.

Announcing the hunger strike of political prisoners before the European Olympics in Baku
Such an atmosphere causes political prisoners of this country to announce a hunger strike before holding the European Olympics in Baku, calling the holding of such competitions in Azerbaijan a foolish thing; Because in this country, people are arrested for defamation and the judicial courts are completely dependent on government institutions. The word “court” is a funny word for the people of this land; Because the judgments are ready and no one is delayed in these courts. “Either with us or against us” is the summary of the rulings; As a result, the verdict is easily obtained. The fear of the secular government of Azerbaijan that the students of religious studies of this country study in foreign countries is also in the context of the fact that the government men of this country are worried about the Muslim people of their country in order to learn about religious facts.
Fear of religious truths
According to the head of the State Committee for Religious Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, “Religion is not only a spiritual matter, but an ideological matter”; Therefore, the government of this country, fearing the transmission of true religious concepts, considers people who have studied in this country to be allowed to lead religious programs. Thus, people who studied religious sciences in Iran and other Islamic countries are not allowed to lead religious programs in Azerbaijan.

It is in such an atmosphere that the arrest of theological experts on charges of acting against the government can be seen in this country. Haj Jihun Jafaraf and Elshan Mustafa Oglu are among these people who were sentenced to 4 months in prison each in the last two years.

Eradicate negligence!!

On the other hand, the Wahhabis have established bases in Azerbaijan since 1997 and propagate their beliefs by building and infiltrating mosques. Abu Bakr Mosque, the largest Wahhabi mosque in Azerbaijan, was built in Baku in 1998 with the financial assistance of a Kuwaiti charity foundation. As the risk of spreading Wahhabism in Azerbaijan became serious, Azeri families became sensitive to this mosque and finally it was closed. (2) The Shia majority of more than 80% in this country is a barrier against the influence of deviant ideas in this country, but the role of its secular government in the people’s lack of access to religious truths is also prominent, and the effect of such a government is no less than the effects of deviant ideas.

Distortions and hostile descriptions of Iran

Indifference and even more stubbornness is not only about religion, but also about neighbors like Iran; So that in textbooks and historical works, historical distortions and descriptive descriptions of hostile Iran can be seen. An example of historical distortions can be seen in a panel above the grave of Abolfazl Elchi Bey, the former president of the Republic of Azerbaijan, where large parts of Iran are depicted under the map of a hypothetical unified Azerbaijan.Historical distortions in books written in the Republic of Azerbaijan can be divided into three categories; Books written by foreign researchers at the request of the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, such as the book “The Inspiration of a President’s Appearance” written by Graham Wilson, and obvious distortions can be seen in the first chapter of this book; The books written by the heads of the ruling body of this republic, such as several recent books by Ramiz Mehdif, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who, even in his latest book, refers to the Afsharia government, which the absolute majority of historians have no doubt is Iranian, as a government. Turk introduces that he has taken Iran under his control and the third category of books that were written for teaching in schools and universities of Azerbaijan. (3) One of the school books in which the wave of anti-Iranism is seen in an unprecedented way is the book “Ata Yordu” which is taught in the fifth grade of elementary school. In this book, he introduces Iran by using expressions such as murderer and vampire. Also, in this book, a hypothetical map of united Azerbaijan is depicted, which includes parts of Iran, Russia, Iraq, Turkey and Georgia.Such examples show the element of antipathy towards Iran and the violation of territorial integrity sovereignty. The arrest of the participants in the Quds Day demonstrations is another example of this country’s opposition to the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region. It has its own historical monument. Therefore, we are witnessing the historical distortions of this country towards some of its neighbors.

Performances of the Republic of Azerbaijan in domestic and foreign arenas/ either on us or with us!
Companionship with criminals

On the other hand, Azerbaijan’s association with criminal countries like Saudi Arabia and the infamous Zionist regime is also done openly. What does Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Saudi Arabia mean at the height of this corrupt regime’s attacks on Yemen? A trip that has faced protests from Islamist parties, including the Islamic Party of Azerbaijan. In such an environment where Saudi Arabia has committed these crimes against the oppressed people of Yemen, it is not possible to hold protest rallies in condemnation of Saudi actions in this country. Finally, it can be claimed that Azerbaijan’s full-fledged politics has left nothing short; Both in domestic and foreign politics, we are witnessing the performances of this northern neighbor. It is known that they say “a friend like you is enough for a thousand enemies.” Such an example speaks for the words of the people of this country and neighbors like Iran towards the policies of the government of Azerbaijan. What are the realities of the Azerbaijan government’s behavior towards its citizens and neighbors that are outside of international principles? The profit of such a policy fills whose pockets? Does anyone other than the government of men of this country and their western supporters benefit from these policies? Sources:
