In contrast to all currents such as the Freedom Movement, the Muslim People’s Republican Party, the National Religious Group, etc., which we call all of them in the form of “Liberal Islam Discourse” and includes the approach of nationalist, leftist and secular groups, it oversees a discourse. which considers giving authenticity to the political and social achievements of the West with a combination of religiosity and Islamic spirituality, and in any case, considers itself without the need of clerical ijtihad to interpret its religion, of course, with the priority of accepting the authority of positivism and empirical science and  Measuring and analyzing religion based on these sciences, modernizing religion, freedom, democracy and western human rights.

It is clear that as a result of such a view, the streaks of secularism are very colorful in this discourse.

This discourse is against the implementation of Islamic rulings, especially Islamic punishments, making the hijab mandatory, the guardianship of jurists and the supervision of jurisprudents, and in foreign policy, it is in favor of reconciliation with the West, the establishment of good relations with Western countries, and especially the United States, on national interests as the determining principle of the policy. The foreigner emphasizes nationalism.

۲-  The fact is that the constant conflict of politics after the revolution has been in this field, that is, the conflict between jurisprudential Islam and liberal Islam.

 Although this conflict has sometimes become bolder and in other cases it has manifested itself in a diluted form in the form of fronts and spectrum of reformism, but the term “liberal Islam” indicates the common root and basis of this discourse.

National religious groups and freedom movement, willy-nilly in the discourse of Islam  Liberals take their place. Examining the course of the struggles and the efforts of this movement to remove the Pahlavi regime, especially people like Bazargan, Yazdi and Sahabi, who also have a significant history of fighting before the revolution, shows that the common goal of the struggle to remove the Pahlavi regime is on the one hand, and the public favor and the influence of the Imam’s personality. On the other hand, Khomeini (may Allah be pleased with him) made these people accompany the discourse of Faqahati Islam led by the Imam in order to achieve the common goal, and of course this companionship prevented the emergence of  There were differences at that point.

With the beginning of the revolution, the drafting of the constitution and the formation of the provisional government, these intellectual differences and their basis showed themselves

Now the question is, what made the people of Islam Faqahati?  choose and doubt the honesty and compassion of the discourse of liberal Islam?!

۳-  The inefficiency and destruction of the first face of the government in the revolution and not accompanying the people’s revolution

The history of liberal Islam’s struggles with the Pahlavi government can be summarized in one sentence, which is a quote from the members of the freedom movement and following Dr. Mossadegh’s character:  “The king should reign, not the government”

However, we build on the approach fully coordinated with the approach of the people under the leadership of Imam Khomeini (RA) in the struggle and examine the behavior of the national movement and in a word the discourse of liberal Islam in the interim government.

Despite Imam Khomeini (RA) handing over the responsibility of the interim government to the thinker and the first person of the freedom movement, that is, Bazergan, and Imam’s all-round support for him, this spectrum after taking power and inability and inefficiency in proper administration and in accordance with the revolutionary conditions They pulled away with an angry and protesting expression. Bazargan resigned and in the critical and uninstitutionalized conditions of the beginning of the revolution, the news of his resignation became the top of the international news because he believed that the courts of the revolution should not deal with the criminals of the Pahlavi regime with revenge and enmity, but should treat them with love, compassion and forgiveness. so that Iran’s reputation is not tarnished in international forums.

Tolerance, understanding and not going along with the situation  And the revolutionary spirit of the newly established society, conservatism and dim view of the role of leadership were among the reasons for the failure of the interim government.

In an interview with Kayhan newspaper dated 12/24/1957, while protesting Imam ( RA), Bazaregan says:

“Not only do different classes put pressure on the government, but they also put pressure on us… it arouses their feelings and then they are forced, they can’t bear it, over our heads, without consulting and consulting with the government, without If they ask us, they will issue declarations and orders. At one time, they put our hands and feet in walnut skins. On last Friday night, eight members of the cabinet came to Mr. that you troubled us.”

This is what the merchant said while the Imam named his government as the government attributed to the Islamic Revolution, the government of Imam Zaman (A.S.) and considered it obligatory to follow it, and thus the people took to the streets and celebrated with his appointment. But this was the first and last time that masses of people came to the street to support the merchant.

Another characteristic of the interim government was its compromise and tolerance with arrogance and the use of agents dependent and inclined to America.

Dr. Yazdi, as the deputy prime minister of the interim government and minister of foreign affairs, says the following about the relationship with America:

“The past is the past and Iranians are men of action and there are many fields for cooperation, Iran will also need American technology and agricultural products over time.”  (Spy nest documents, No. 34, p. 62)

The majority of the ministers of the interim government were western and pro-American. For example  Abbas Amir Tzam, the spokesman of the interim government, was convicted and imprisoned for espionage, Hassan Nazih, as the first head of the National Iranian Oil Company, was convicted for financial abuses and receiving illegal funds and fled the country and the anti-revolutionary ranks. .

Reza Sadr as Minister of Commerce, Ali Muhammad Izadi as Minister of Agriculture and Timsar Ahmad Madani as Minister of Defense of the Provisional Government all fled the country after revealing their nature and joined the ranks of the opponents of the Islamic Revolution.

The businessman’s meeting with Brzezinski, his conciliatory spirit with the US, the disclosure of the documents of the spy nest and the revelation of the connection of some members of the freedom movement with the US and the slow and weak performance of the interim government went hand in hand until the first experience. ۴-  Dissolution of the Assembly of Experts

The Majlis of Experts, which was formed at the direct suggestion and discretion of Imam Khomeini (RA) to draft and approve the Constitution, included the principle of Velayat Faqih as a pillar of the Constitution, but Abbas Amir Tzam, Deputy Press Secretary of Bazargan and spokesman of the Provisional Government, a member of the Azadi Movement, Along with another part of the movement’s nationalist body, they were the executors and agents of a plan to dissolve this parliament, which failed due to Imam Khomeini’s resistance.

۵-  The religious freedom and national movement’s reaction to the verdict of the apostate Salman Rushdie

The Azadi movement believed that Imam Khomeini’s (RA) ruling on apostasy and execution of the author of the Satanic Verses book caused the ugly face of Islam in the world and contradicted human rights and international custom.

Bazargan, as an intellectual leader and the first person of liberal Islamic thinking, by writing an article entitled “Self-made interpretations of Islam, dust on the shining face of religion”, while condemning the actions of Salman Rushdie and praising the general objection of Muslims to this book, three objections according to the ruling of Imam Khomeini ( Reh) takes;

۱) Imam’s ruling brought the author of the book out of isolation, fame and billion sales of the book and its author.

۲) Imam’s ruling was humanitarian and not godly and caused Muslims to be introduced as barbaric and ignorant.

۳) He declares with a mujtahidan gesture that the command to kill an apostate is not in the word of God and there is no correct and consistent news that indicates the killing of an apostate in the tradition of the beloved Messenger of Islam.

The three objections to the apostasy and execution of Salman Rushdie by merchants are one thing: the satisfaction or displeasure of the western world with this verdict.

Of course, this interpretation based on opinion and analysis according to taste and without the need of authority and clergy is retroactive in the thinking of liberal Islam and is considered as one of the basic features of this discourse.

۶-  The confrontation of religious freedom and national movement with holy war and defense

Those who chant the slogan of nationalism and chant the stone of a prosperous and free Iran should open their chests and enter the field more than religious people in the conditions of war and attack by a neighboring country.

Unfortunately, during the eight years of the holy defense of the purest and most faithful children of this land and land, the discourse of liberal Islam was only in the form of  The defender of peace appeared.

Of course, at the beginning of the war, the position of the freedom movement was to confront the enemy and condemn Iraq, but after the conquest of Khorramshahr, in a completely inconsistent direction with the Imam’s management of the war and his statements, he blames the leader and officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the start of the war.

The summary of the opinions of the Azadi Movement about war was presented in a pamphlet entitled “Analysis of War and Peace” which was published by the Movement in the summer of 1963. The publication of this pamphlet was warmly welcomed by nationalists and anti-revolutionary liberals living abroad. The anti-revolutionary publication “Islamic Revolution in Migration” published by Bani Sadr and his friends in Paris, published a part of the pamphlet.

In the aforementioned analysis, the “naturalness” of the “emergence of war” after every revolution is pointed out, and with interpretations such as revolutionary fantasy, it is tried to transform the combative and jihadist feelings of the warriors and to write odes about peace. Also, in this analysis, the author defended the Iraqi regime and considered its attack and aggression against Iran as natural and due to the Islamic Republic’s adoption of the policy of exporting the revolution.

Also, in the analysis of the freedom movement, one of the reasons for the growth of the idea of exporting the revolution and attacking the interests of America is proposed as follows: “Perhaps the lack of belief or the ability of the leaders to guide the aggressive force of the people in the direction of construction caused the growth of this thinking.” This statement has no scientific or realistic value except for sarcasm and humiliation.

۷-  The point of view of this thinking towards the war and the conditions of the society and the spraying of these people leads to the point where Seyyed Ali Akbar Mohtashmipour, the then minister of the country, wrote in a letter to Imam Khomeini (RA):

“The freedom movement’s view on war and holy defense in a statement entitled “Endless War” is as follows: What is currently seen is an endless war that could be the end of the world, the end of Iran and the Iranian people…, they have said that even if a single house remains standing in Iran, we will continue the war and if only one person remains, that One will also fight, is this synonymous with anything other than war, war to destruction? Azadi Movement has published a notice about “absolute government and sovereignty” which states: “What kind of decree and what kind of revolution is this in Iran and Islam, which puts the government in a higher position than the messenger of God and gives him the authority to make decisions in the interests of the government and without consulting the Ummah, contrary to the clear text of “Wa Shawarham fi’alamr” do the affairs of the nation.”

And the Imam writes as follows in response to his letter:

“The movement of so-called freedom, jurisdiction over any matter of governmental or legislative affairs or judicial, and their harm is due to the fact that they are pretending to Islam and with this tactic they will mislead our dear youths and also by unnecessarily interfering in the interpretation of the Holy Qur’an and honorable hadiths and ignorant interpretations, they may cause great corruption, from The harm of other groups, even the hypocrites, these dear sons of the merchant engineer, is greater and higher.”

“As a result, the so-called freedom movement and its people mislead many people who are unaware of their evil intentions, so they should be dealt with decisively and they should not be official.”

Also, Seyyed Ahmad Khomeini wrote in a letter to his uncle while criticizing the liberal Islamic thinking of the Freedom Movement and other such groups:

“The issue of nationalists is a dangerous issue. Nationalism is the opposite of Islamism, and Islamism is the firm line of the Imam. For the nationalists, the first price is their country, and they either do not care about the revolution, the system, and Islam, or it is of very little importance to them. For them, these are the basis of the presidency. If they are interested in the country, it is the country that they should be the leader of. If some of them adhere to individual actions within the framework of Islam, but when it comes to their interests, they do not give up on any lies, slander, or insults.

After the revolution, they did not stay with Imam for a moment. Teasing, cursing, and cursing the Imam was one of the common actions of these ignorant of God…

Another issue that the freedom movement pursues is to reduce people’s trust towards the imam, meaning that whatever is from the imam, people feel that it is not from the imam, but from the people around the imam or someone else, and this handwriting and signature It is not the imam, but they have forged the handwriting and signature of the imam. It is very dangerous to inculcate this matter and God will never forgive someone who acts like this.”

The fact is that the expression of the freedom movement’s oppression of the Imam and the people’s trust in them is too much, and it is surprising and regrettable that some ignorant and ill-informed people would write like this under the pretext of the death of a member of the liberal Islamic thought: “In general, we are with Tip We didn’t treat the freedom movement well and we had an unnecessary fear of them, so we gave them less permission to express their opinions.”

You may have acted like this, but you are not the representative of the system, and based on the documents and as evidenced by history, this is the thinking of liberal Islam and the freedom movement, which should apologize to them for the atrocities they have committed against the system, the government, the Imam, and the people of Islamic Iran.

The fact is that this political stupidity, which comes from the lack of historical information of some people, is also worthy of apology and regret.

Maybe you have forgotten, but the young children of Ruhollah still haven’t forgotten the hand of national and religious groups in the sedition of 1988 and their companionship and sympathy with the enemies of this country and land.

And if we ignore all that black past, this community will never forget the legacy of fighting and getting rich from the pocket of this system, and at the same time eating with the sworn enemies of this revolution and sitting at their table. .
