Orange is the fruit of a shrub from the family of sedum which is considered to be native to China. This fruit was used as medicine by Arab doctors in the Middle Ages. In the 16th century AD, the queen of Italy, Annamarie Denarola, first used the fragrance of its flowers as a perfume for her gloves….

 Since then, its perfume is known as neroli and its use has increased day by day. Orange flowers in Iran are known as orange spring, which has a very fragrant and pleasant smell. The used parts of orange include juice, peel and flowers. Fruits have various compounds such as salts, vitamins, flavonoids, plant acids and essential oils and the effects of stimulating digestion, anti-constipation, energizing, expectorant, antitussive, sedative, insomnia and shock relief. Orange juice is especially useful for expelling thick and yellowish phlegm. In addition, unripe orange juice is stronger than its ripe type in some properties. For this reason, both ripe and unripe varieties are used. Other effects of orange juice include anti-cancer, anti-allergy, antioxidant, liver protector, sugar reducer, blood cholesterol, blood pressure reducer, uric acid reduction and immune system stimulant.

The orange scent obtained from its flower has anti-depressant, sedative, anti-diarrheal, skin softening and anti-capillary properties. Ripe and unripe orange peels are widely used fresh and dried in China. The medicinal properties of orange peel include anti-gastritis, anti-allergy, anti-spasm and heartache, digestive, stomach tonic and appetite suppressant. These skins may have reached the green color of unripe oranges and the yellow color of oranges. The daily consumption of orange peel as medicine is 10 to 15 grams of fresh peel or its dry equivalent.

In Iran, an herbal extract is produced from orange flowers, which is known as orange spring extract. This sweat has anti-bloating, spasm and weak sedative properties and is used for this purpose. You can also make tea from its flowers. The meaning of tea is the brew of its flowers. To prepare its tea, you can pour 2 grams of dry flowers in a glass of boiling water and put it on steam for 10 to 15 minutes. Then he smoothed it and milled it. To cure bad sleep, you can take a glass of it while sleeping.

To properly dry orange flowers, unbloomed flowers should be collected early in the morning and dried in the dark. Otherwise, the flower essence may be destroyed and its smell, taste and properties may change.
