Fars news agency: A Libyan analyst who opposes the Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, referring to the large presence of American oil companies in the country’s oil and gas sector, said that the president of the United States does not take a firm stand against Gaddafi because of the influence of these companies in the policies of the White House.
In an interview with the international reporter of Fars news agency, “Saleh Al-Jaoudeh” said in relation to the lack of a clear position of the White House regarding the repressive methods of the Libyan dictator: Washington’s cautious policy towards Libyan protests is due to the activities of American oil companies in Libya. You know that these companies have a great influence on the foreign policies of the White House. Therefore, it seems that Washington is waiting to see if the remnants of the Gaddafi regime can maintain the process of transferring oil to America or not.
* America’s fear of Islamists coming to power in Libya
This expert on Libyan political issues based in Washington added: In some political circles, this point is raised that if Muammar Gaddafi and his children like Saif al-Islam are removed, the Islamists may come to power in Tripoli, and according to them, Libya will become a country for the transfer of terrorists and illegal activities. This is the second reason for the cautious policy of America.
* The action of human rights defense organizations to stop the killing of Libyan people
This Libyan analyst said about Muammar Gaddafi’s opposition to the requests of international assemblies to stop the massacre in Libya: All international organizations, including human rights defense organizations, must use all their efforts to stop the killing of the Libyan people, because this nation has been oppressed, and their killing has wounded pure human feelings, and this killing is now an issue. The world has changed.
* International organizations should prevent Gaddafi’s repressive actions
In the end, Al-Jaudeh stated: There is a place for international assemblies and European countries to take decisive decisions against Muammar Gaddafi’s regime. Like declaring the Libyan airspace a no-fly zone and preventing the flight of helicopters and military planes of this country. Also, people who commit military and war activities in Libya should be prosecuted. In addition, require African countries and the Mediterranean basin to prevent their nationals from traveling to Libya. It is obvious that these measures can have a significant effect in reducing the repressive measures of the Gaddafi regime.
